Cooling Repair & Service
Internal Engine components create heat with friction and cylinder firing. This heat is carried away from engine towards radiator where coolant / antifreeze is cooled down and later carried back to engine again. Overtime these engine cooling components fail. In Toronto, we are using 50/50 mix of coolant for radiator cooling that keeps engine components cool. Different vehicles may take different kinds of additives that are in mixed in coolant.
The basic cooling system may be made up of following:
- Radiator and radiator hoses
- Water Pump
- Thermostat and housing
- Compressor malfunction
- Electric Cooling Fan
- Thermo-time switch
Mechanic Nation have all tools to do required services on these systems. Sometimes special tools are required to carry out some repairs. We radiator flush all our repairs. We test the system by pressure after repairing them
Ontario has very cold temperatures that may develop deposits from rapid heating a cooling and over time increase the level of acid in the system. Therefore, the coolant should be flush every 200,000 KM or 5 years whichever comes first.
